Answer: A Grand Piano radiates its mellifluent voices in all directions, taking advantage of a room’s acoustic environment to enhance and enthrall the musicians and the audience.

Therefore: Deep Breath Audio has developed the 412 TwinAmp™ to bring these qualities to the Stick. Electronic keyboards and other instruments will sound glorious when piped through the synapses of this electro-acoustic engine.

NOTHING like it: The TwinAmp (patent pending) is unique and doesn’t exist in any musical venue, sound stage, recording studio or rehearsal hall. Until now. You and your bandmates will experience an uncanny presence from this amp, with clarity, definition and precision. See further clarification of it’s unique configuration at the bottom of this page.

NOTE: This amp is a full featured experimental prototype, intended for medium to large venues. Portable versions are on the drawing board.

This is a “technology demonstrator”, an experimental prototype. Like a grand piano (who’s sound pattern it is intended to emulate), the 412 TwinAmp is best for use in medium to large venues, stages, rehearsal halls and studios.

This prototype consists of three modules. From top to bottom: The 402RPS Radial Point Source, the 410TA TwinAmp Electronics and a 402DMT Dual Mode Transducer.

What exactly makes the 412 TwinAmp unique? The 412 TwinAmp is two complete “combo” amplifiers in one package (with benefits). For example, if you took a Hartke KB15 Bass Amp and piled a Roland JC120 Guitar Amp on top of it, you’d basically have the TwinAmp. However, no other amp has a Radial Point Source sitting on top of the stack. So, what is the RPS? Well, it’s there to give the Chapman Stick’s sound a 360˚ radiation pattern to enable significant interaction with a room’s natural acoustics, similar to how a grand piano interacts with a room. This amp makes the stick sound glorious in every way, from the lowest octaves all the way up to the highest octaves.
